I've tried my hand at appliqueing. My first try wasn't so bad. I put it away for a rainy day and some more instructions. Then, this week, I got the opportunity to check out a friends handy work. Her applique was so nice that it inspired me to try again.
Here's what I came up with.
I positioned my applique a little too low, but I think I did pretty good. I'm still playing around with these little wallets and toying with opening an etsy shop. We'll see about that later. In the mean time, I have a few gifts to give away!
Here's the back.
What do you think? Are they worth buying once I get all the kinks worked out?
soooo cute!! I especially love the contrasting stitch around the edge. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I don't think the flowers started out so low on the wallet. It must have moved when I stuck it under the machine and didn't notice.
ReplyDeleteSharla, they are adorable!!! :) I think you should open a little shop or have someone sell them in town. Not everyone can sew or do this and they will buy them. Love the stitch around the edge. It is real popular in the states right now to do applique with wool. I think they call it felting??? But they are teaching classes at all the quilt stores around here. The do the applique by hand though. Let me see what I can find for you here and will send to you. May have some tips for you to help and inspire you even more!!! So proud of you my dear friend!!! Miss you wicked also!!! :(
ReplyDeleteLove & Blessings,
Gerrie
